Infrared Workouts for Better Circulation

Did you know that exposure to the energy of infrared light can greatly improve your circulatory system? It is well known that working out can improve your circulation by strengthening your heart and pumping blood faster through your body, but when you add infrared heat to the workouts your circulation can improve even more.

Research tells us that far-infrared exposure greatly elevates nitric oxide production in the body. This increased level of nitric oxide causes the relaxation of blood vessels. Practically every cell type in the body produces nitric oxide. It is considered to be one of the most important molecules for vascular health.

Nitric oxide is a vasodilator. The relaxing of the blood vessels causes them to widen to allow for more blood flow and a lowering of blood pressure.  As a vasodilator, this intra- and extracellular signaling molecule relaxes the inner muscles of your blood vessels, causing the vessels to increase in width.

HOTWORX 24 Hour Infrared Fitness Studio franchises utilize a patented far-infrared sauna system for client workouts. Far-infrared radiation, which is non-ionizing and, therefore, a good form of radiation, produces thermal and non-thermal effects on the human body. These positive effects include increased arterial blood flow, reduced blood pressure, capillary dilatations, and an overall improvement in blood circulation. We know about the stimulation of nitric oxide production, but all of the reasons why far-infrared produces these effects is yet to be fully understood. What we do know is that it works very well to improve the circulatory process.

Additionally, as demonstrated by research and not commonly known, infrared energy improves the blood flow to your bones.

According to one such research project…

“The results of the present study show that infrared radiation remarkably improves intraosseous blood circulation, and these effects continue for at least 30 minutes. It is, therefore, suggested that infrared radiation can be used as a measure of thermotherapy in some bones to improve intraosseous blood circulation.” (1)

Healthy bones require efficient blood flow. Blood flow to the bones supplies the necessary nutrients and oxygen, as well as performs the vital function of removal of metabolic wastes, acids and carbon dioxide.

Good circulation is vital to your health. A consistent practice of infrared exercise should become a permanent part of your weekly fitness routine.
