Sweat and Detox with an Infrared Workout

This past week I travelled to Punta Mita, Mexico to attend a Tony Robbins seminar. While attending the seminar I used the hotel gym in the mornings for my workouts. You could have hung meat in that place! Geez, I froze during those workouts. I didn’t sweat a drop. It was like going to a beach with no sand, or going to the amusement park only to find out that your favorite roller coaster was closed for repairs. A total bummer. They could have saved a lot of kilowatts by just turning down the AC in that gym.

Let the people sweat!

Sweating is good for you, and it feels awesome to sweat it out during a workout. A workout without sweat is like a glass half empty. There is nothing worse than a half-you know what experience.

One of the best ways to get a good sweat during a workout is to train in an infrared sauna. HOTWORX was first to introduce hot exercise in a now patented infrared sauna with access to workouts like hot yoga 24 hours a day providing customers with the opportunity to get a sweat on anytime they want 365 days per year.

Sweating is so much more than just your body’s way to cool itself. Sweating is a detox mechanism too. Granted, sweat is mostly water with a complex mixture of chemicals and it serves as a cooling mechanism to lower the body temperature, but 2-3% of the perspiration from a traditional sauna consists of toxic substances that are being removed from the body. Even if only a small percentage of sweat consists of toxins, it is still worth it to rid your body of it. Compared to sweating in an infrared sauna, though, the percentage of toxic waste in sweat goes up to as high as 20% which is 7 times greater than that of traditional sweating. Without a doubt, most of the bodily waste is handled through the kidneys and the liver, but sweating cannot be denied as an additional method to cleanse the body from the inside out.

With the daily pounding from air pollution and other forms of toxic substance intake, we should all be looking for ways to increase detox!

As reported in the Journal of Environmental and Public Health, “Along with essential minerals, sweat is an acknowledged excretory route for toxic metals.” (1) Multiple studies have proven this, yet the sweat critics, with their Big Pharma agenda, would have you believe that you can’t detox your body from sweating. Science and common sense beg to differ.

I am amazed to see all of the erroneous journalism denouncing the practice of sweating and declaring that there is no such thing as detox from sweat. These articles are found in some very high profile periodicals and online news sources. These health “experts” want us to get sick and then just take a pill from the doctor as opposed to doing something preventative and obviously good for our health. Don’t be fooled. Informed health practitioners know better. The real science can be found in scientific journals as opposed to the online magazines and newspapers beholden to their Big Pharma advertisers. Shame on them.

Sweat also contains waste from your body including urea, salts, sugars and ammonia. (2)

According to Dr. Christiane Northrup, women’s health expert and New York Times Best-Selling author, there is a clear difference in results between sweating from a traditional sauna and sweat induced from an infrared sauna. Take a look at the excerpt below from her website.

While most sweat is comprised of water and little salt, studies show that 15-20% of infrared sauna-induced sweat is composed of cholesterol, fat-soluble toxins, heavy metals, sulfuric acid, and ammonia (as well as sodium and uric acid.) In other words, an infrared sauna may enable your body to eliminate environmental toxins through sweat. (3)

Dr. Derek Ferguson, owner of Ferguson Life Health Centers in New Jersey, believes in the use of infrared saunas for detox. In one article on his website he states that, “Detoxification is important because it strengthens the body’s immune system and helps the body’s biochemical processes function efficiently so that the body is better able to digest the nutrients in foods.” He goes on to say, “Sweating is good for you. Sweating is one of the body’s safest and most natural ways to heal and maintain good health. Infrared saunas are specifically designed to promote a deep, healthy and natural detoxifying sweat.” (4)

HOTWORX franchise locations offer a unique way to experience infrared detox sweating while getting in a great workout. This training method is called 3D Training and combines heat, infrared energy absorption and isometrics or HIIT exercise sessions. It is no surprise that many medical doctors have actually opened franchises all over the country. Stay tuned for a series of blog post in the coming weeks that will feature knowledge from these doctors who now own HOTWORX 24 hour infrared fitness studios.

Sweat it out!!!
