covid-19 update

We are excited that many of our franchise locations have been able to reopen!  Some of those reopenings call for more restrictions than others, staffed hours may be modified at this time and some locations have not been cleared to reopen yet.  Please check your studio’s Location Page or visit the Contact Us page, be sure to select the correct location and send a message directly to your studio. We ask that all members and guests respect and abide by posted member and guest rules when visiting studios.

We are working diligently to keep each of our HOTWORX.net studio location pages updated with their current status and reopening information to keep you informed.  Additionally the individual studio owners, managers and staff are also working to keep existing members and potential members informed regarding their latest reopening information, including but not limited to temporary member rules to be followed, new sign up special offers and more through their Facebook and Instagram social media pages.  Please be sure to check your location’s social media pages for specifics!  We want to thank all of our members across the globe for your support and enthusiasm for HOTWORX and our reopenings.

We are extremely grateful to have you all back and would like to welcome our new members as well!   As of today over 85 locations have reopened, 5 brand new studios have opened for the first time and we have several more re-openings and first time openings planned over the coming days and weeks.

Official HOTWORX Statement regarding High Temperature Effects on Coronavirus:

A recent study conducted by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security showed that exposure to higher temperatures resulted in a more rapid death for the coronavirus. Bill Bryan, Head of Science and Technology Directorate at the U.S. DHS, presented the findings of this study during a press conference hosted by the Coronavirus Task Force. Bryan stated, “For example, increasing the temperature and humidity of potentially contaminated indoor spaces appears to reduce the stability of the virus. And extra care may be warranted for dry environments that do not have exposure to solar light.”

While the 125 degree temperature of our infrared workout saunas may be considered an unfavorable condition for survival of the virus based on these findings, HOTWORX makes no claim to provide a cure, remedy, treatment or relief in any way for COVID-19. As our studios begin to reopen, we kindly ask that HOTWORX members and guests follow the new social distancing and other protective guidelines we have temporarily implemented to lower the risks associated with the virus.

We hope all of our members are staying healthy and fit during these interesting times. We have seen so many great posts of our member community doing HOTWORX at HOME and staying in shape with our newly released Virtual Private Trainer at home workouts and are so proud so see you all staying strong. We have been missing all of our members and are excited that gyms were included in the Phase one plan of the Opening Up America plan. Our franchisees and their employees have been preparing for this for weeks and have been cleaning, working on modified operations to accommodate the new “normal” and much more! We wanted to get you all some updates regarding re-openings.

When Will My Location Re-open?
While reopening our franchised locations across the country will be a process and timing will be different by state and region, we are ready to see our members back in the studio soon! Re-openings will begin as soon as Monday, April 27th in some areas and will continue as local officials provide their plans over the coming weeks. As always check with your location for specific reopening dates and information. Once your studio is open again, please call to make sure there are no changes to the traditional staffed hours.

What About My Membership?
For those locations reopening, we are happy to say there is nothing members need to do to reactivate their memberships as they will resume as they were before the studio suspended billings. If there is a need to freeze or cancel your membership before your billing resumes, please contact your studio location.

What Will Be Different?
There will be Temporary Member Rules and changes as part of what we are calling our Phase 1 Reopening Protocol. This will be the biggest phase of changes for members and as conditions improve over the coming weeks our rules will also change. The changes affect how our employees are working, interacting with members and also will affect your in studio visits. Please see those rules below. Other mandates may apply in your area. With the ever-changing situation and unknowns that lie ahead, one thing is for certain, members are craving HOTWORX and are looking for ways to work out at home. We are excited to announce the launch of HOTWORX AT HOME! For a limited time, all HOTWORX members can access four isometric workouts in the HOTWORX Burn Off App on demand! Just open your HOTWORX app, then log out and back in, then select Virtual Personal Trainer on the drop down menu. Choose from Iso, Pilates, Warrior or Yoga. We hope you enjoy this free perk and our at home workouts through April!

At HOTWORX, the health of our studio members and guests has always been a top priority.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is closely monitoring an outbreak of respiratory illness caused by a novel (new) coronavirus first identified in Wuhan, China. As cases of COVID-19 are being reported throughout the United States, we want to assure you that every HOTWORX studio location adheres to a daily, weekly, and monthly checklist in accordance with the brand’s operations policies and procedures.

We kindly ask that HOTWORX members and guests assist us in maintaining cleanliness of the studio and minimizing the risk of spreading the virus in the following ways:

• Please utilize the gym wipes available inside the studio after you come into contact with any equipment or utilities during each visit, which include but are not limited to: door handles, access entry keypad, sauna temperature controls, foam rollers, HIIT equipment, FX Zone equipment, vending machine, storage cubbies and lockers, and restroom facilities . As an extra safety precaution, we recommend utilizing the gym wipes before and after use of these items.
• We encourage everyone to wash their hands and use hand sanitizer and/or anti-bacterial wipes frequently.
• Stay hydrated! Always hydrate before, during and after sauna workouts.
• Remember to go at your own best pace! If at any point you begin to feel ill, dizzy or overheated, simply rest on your mat or exit the sauna.
• If you think you have been exposed to COVID-19 and develop a fever and symptoms of respiratory illness, such as cough or difficulty breathing, call your healthcare provider immediately.
