HOTWORX congratulates franchisees, Ian and Sarah Curtis, who were awarded a franchise license in the Denver market and recently opened their Aurora, CO (Southlands) studio!

What originally motivated you to consider a business opportunity?
After a referral from a coworker and interviewing several other HOTWORX franchisees, I decided this was a great business for me to get into.

What led you to explore franchising rather than an independent business?
Franchising offers me the best opportunity to learn about a successful business model with the support of a broader team.

What was your initial impression of your first HOTWORX session?
I am not your typical HOTWORX customer. In preparation for an Ironman race, I needed a faster and easier way to train Vo2Max training separate from the runs and swims. 4 or 5 of the Hot Blast workouts allow me to do this once a week with about half the effort required for other options.

How was your experience going through the HOTWORX Discovery Process?
Mandy, our HOTWORX Franchise Recruiter, is phenomenal and shared all the relevant information with me and my wife during the Discovery Process.

How would you describe your Orientation Day and meeting the HOTWORX Executive Team?
The HOTWORX Executive Team is very thorough and I appreciate the preparedness they bring to the vetting process.

What advice would you give to other candidates considering the opportunity to franchise with HOTWORX?
Take time with the materials that are provided for you, interview other franchise owners, and keep in mind along the way that regardless of what support is provided for you, it is up to you to ensure your own success.

What are the top 3 reasons you chose to franchise with HOTWORX?
1. The business model makes sense to me and stands in stark contrast to the model of big box gyms.
2. The FDD showcased some critical items not shown in other FDDs and that are not necessarily required by law. That, in conjunction with the demonstrated good will of the team, made me feel I could trust this company.
3. I spoke to customers and non-customers. I heard genuine excitement from people who thought they might get a HOTWORX in their town. That demonstrated the strength of the brand.

What excites you the most in offering HOTWORX to your community?
The opportunity to improve the health of a community in an honest way, and for an honest price, is exciting.

What goals do you plan to accomplish in your first year as a HOTWORX franchisee?
Aside from my drive to make our HOTWORX location the highest performing one, I want to learn as much as possible in the first year about this type of business.

How will HOTWORX help you achieve your personal and professional goals?
I see everything, successes and failures, as critical stepping stones to the next venture. Sales, profitability, and money are merely ways to keep score. By playing to win despite the inevitable challenges, I expect to grow in more ways than one.
