Infrared Workouts Optimize Oxygen to Your Organs

Did you know that infrared energy is absorbed through your skin up to 1.5 inches into your body while you are training in the sauna? It’s true, and have you thought about what the benefits are to your organs resulting from the infrared stimulation? Let’s briefly explore that question, and why the delivery of oxygen to organs is so important.

You may have seen in the news recently that the Coronavirus interferes with oxygen getting to your organs. In fact, ARDS, or acute respiratory distress syndrome is one of the main conditions afflicting patients with critical COVID-19 cases. When oxygen is reduced, or restricted to vital organs it can become life threatening due to the risk of organ failure. In the effort to revive patients of COVID-19, therapies such as hyperbaric oxygen and other alternative approaches to increase the oxygenation of tissues have become necessary in addition to the standard respiratory ventilators. Hydroxychloroquine to increase hemoglobin (red blood cell protein that transports oxygen from the lungs to tissues and organs) for oxygen binding has been a major news topic as well.

Obviously, it is important to strengthen blood circulation and the flow of oxygen throughout the body as a part of your weekly fitness routine. This vital body process of transporting oxygen can be enhanced through exercise and exposure to infrared radiation like that from sunlight or from an infrared sauna.

When you workout in an infrared sauna you get a one, two punch for improvements to your cardiovascular and respiratory system. For example, when you practice the isometric postures of yoga the constant restriction and releasing of your muscles works as a full body pump, so to speak, forcing elevated blood flow. Exposure to infrared energy immediately begins to raise the heart rate to your target zone for the workout and stimulates accelerated metabolic activity which also works to improve circulation.

And, over time, with consistent infrared workouts like that of HOTWORX, you can improve what is known as your VO2 Max which is your maximum volume of oxygen consumption. A better VO2 Max indicates that your body is processing oxygen at a faster and more efficient rate providing more oxygen to your vital organs!

In today’s new normal it is imperative that you pay attention to the health of your respiratory system! Give it a boost through infrared workouts.
