What Is Fat Oxidation?

As electrons move through the chain, they drive the production of ATP by powering ATP synthase, the enzyme that generates ATP from ADP and phosphate. This process is highly efficient and produces significantly more ATP per molecule than carbohydrate oxidation, making fat a dense energy source during prolonged, steady-state activity.
