What originally motivated you to consider a business opportunity?
Jennifer: At 47 years old I was tired of working hard for other people's businesses and wanted to put my efforts and passion into something of my own. I had recently left the mortgage industry burnt out and was searching for something that connected to my values and passion for health & wellness.
Megan & Scott: We have been looking for business opportunities and our business partner was looking into HOTWORX as a potential opportunity based on great reviews from friends and a great experience trying out the studio.
What led you to explore franchising rather than an independent business?
Jennifer: Starting a business from scratch felt daunting. The plug and play formula of a franchise was appealing, as well as being able to see functional success in franchises in operation.
Megan & Scott: The structure built into the franchise was desired because we are both working full time. Starting a new business from scratch would have been more difficult, so we were leaning towards opening a franchised business.
What was your initial impression of your first HOTWORX session?
Jennifer: To be honest, it felt a bit too good to be true! But as I learned more and had my questions answered I felt very confident that all the reasons I chose HOTWORX were legitimate.
Megan & Scott: I have always enjoyed hot yoga and was excited to try a session. Jen and I completed Hot Row and I was impressed with the intensity of the workout in such a short period. I liked the layout of the studio space, the ease to navigate and access the services and workout space. The employee we interacted with was also very knowledgeable and welcoming. I was impressed by her.
How was your experience going through the HOTWORX Discovery Process?
Jennifer: The Discovery Process was good. At one point we felt it was taking too long because we were excited, then suddenly it was time for Orientation Day!
Megan & Scott: It was good. It seemed to be more of a sales pitch than objective information. Any drawbacks to being a franchise owner had to be asked about and did not seem to be talked about much to properly vet potential franchisees.
How would you describe your Orientation Day and meeting the HOTWORX Executive Team?
Jennifer: Orientation Day was great. The biggest impression made was how long the Executives have been with the Planet Beach/HOTWORX organization and the growth each have experienced. It was obvious that Stephen Smith fosters great relationships and sees value in people and allows growth, which are values I appreciate.
Megan & Scott: It was extremely informative and we definitely learned a tremendous amount of the operational side of owning a HOTWORX franchise. Everyone was very knowledgeable and has been with the organization for many years. Orientation Day was a great experience and it was nice meeting some of the team.
What advice would you give to other candidates considering the opportunity to franchise with HOTWORX?
Jennifer: Visit a location to sense the vibe and be open to the opportunity. Know that the process is very thorough and from Orientation Day forward, the formula, tools and support available are incredible!
Megan & Scott: Jump on the opportunity! This is a tremendous opportunity to start a franchise in a growing, new trend in the fitness industry.

What excites you the most in offering HOTWORX to your community?
Jennifer: I am excited to serve a need in the wellness community by being able to offer the benefits of infrared saunas with short accessible workouts. As a single mom, these are crucial in fitting wellness into a busy life.
Megan & Scott: We're excited about bringing a new opportunity to improve people's health and wellness, while working towards our own personal goals.
What goals do you plan to accomplish in your first year as a HOTWORX franchisee?
Jennifer: We plan to meet the 500 membership goal as well as prepare for our next location!
Megan & Scott: Our first goal is for the first location to be profitable by month 4 after opening. Secondly, we would like to have our second location opened.
How will HOTWORX help you achieve your personal and professional goals?
Jennifer: From a personal standpoint, HOTWORX fills my passion for wellness and self-care, as well as serving others. Professionally, HOTWORX will allow me to achieve financial autonomy and alignment of my passion with my finances, as well as provide an opportunity to grow more as a leader and member of my community.
Megan & Scott: We would like to retire earlier than most people are able to. We are striving to become financially free and HOTWORX will be able to help us achieve that goal. We are also looking to be able to spend more time improving our own health and wellness. One of the reasons we are opening a HOTWORX is that there is not a convenient location in our area.
