HOTWORX welcomes new franchisees, Steven and Wendy Williams, who were awarded a franchise license in the Houston market and are currently in Presale at their Spring, TX (Champion Forest) studio!
What originally motivated you to consider a business opportunity?
We had been looking at different businesses to get involved with for a few years because we knew we had that drive. We both were working our respective jobs related to the Oil & Gas/Energy market. I was in Hazardous Area Large System Sales/CCTV & Security Manufacturing Sales and Wendy is an HR Manager for an Energy company. I was laid off, and didn't feel secure in having my future directly controlled by companies that rise and fall with the Energy market. And I definitely didn't just want a "job" where I wouldn't be "all in" with a company that I couldn't give my all for. We wanted an opportunity that was different, and finding the right opportunity was key. When Wendy found HOTWORX and we looked into it further, we saw the health benefits. It was something we could get excited about and the timing was perfect.
What led you to explore franchising rather than an independent business?
It was important for us to find the "right" franchise. We wanted to be able to benefit from an established business who had a great product and we could benefit from their experience. We can rise and fall on our merits, follow an established, proven plan, and not have to worry about initial failure or unexpected setbacks associated with starting new with unproven establishments. It's important to have a team behind you that is as vested in your growth and success as you are.
What was your initial impression of your first HOTWORX session?
Wendy's initial session was so wonderful that she called me as she was leaving to tell me to start looking into franchising. She was sold on the technology and set-up of the location when she signed the whole family up during presale. My initial session and what I use it for is more therapy driven for my neck that I had surgery on. The benefits of the neck, back and overall body absorbing the infrared is worth it.
How was your experience going through the HOTWORX Discovery Process?
Our recruiter, Cynthia, was enthusiastic and knowledgeable of the process. She was able to explain the process and what to expect in great detail, making sure we knew what we were getting ourselves into. She is a great ambassador for the brand and really showed her belief in the system and the people that she works with.
How would you describe your Orientation Day and meeting the HOTWORX Executive Team?
Orientation Day was such a whirlwind of information but it was very informative and reinforced what we had been told throughout the process with greater detail. The team was just fabulous to meet. How employees speak about the company says a lot about the company itself and there was nothing but genuine enthusiasm about the brand and leadership of the company. The owner made it a personal point to be there and speak with all of us, as well as share his story.
What advice would you give to other entrepreneurs considering the opportunity to franchise with HOTWORX?
If you believe in the product, you can believe in the leadership and brand you will have backing you. They really care about you succeeding in your goals in the process of reaching theirs.

What excites you the most in offering HOTWORX to your community?
We are very excited to be a part of something that can bring better health and pain relief to so many people in the area. It's such a unique and well delivered concept that people can truly get excited about.
What goals do you plan to accomplish in your first year as a HOTWORX franchisee?
We obviously want to get our first location up and running and deliver on our expectations. But we want to crush those expectations and bring in as many people as possible to enjoy the benefits HOTWORX can bring to them. Hopefully in that time we will start the process on future locations.
How will HOTWORX help you achieve your personal and professional goals?
Now my personal and professional goals are very much in tune. We want to be able to enjoy what we do, and I think we have found that. We would like to grow the HOTWORX brand to other locations that are personal for us and can benefit the people we know in other markets. Having the strong brand and the proven benefits of HOTWORX behind us will enable us to have the financial freedom to decide our own futures, and enjoy doing it.
