HOTWORX welcomes new franchisees, Anthony Young and Robert Kelada, who were awarded a franchise license in Washington, DC!

What originally motivated you to consider a business opportunity?

I’d thought about a franchise for twenty years. Originally, I was going to franchise with a national pizza franchise but really didn’t like what the pizza had become. It would have been successful but I really didn’t believe in it so I just couldn’t do it. Yet, a national franchise has proven concepts and is probably one of the best ways to enter a business if you’ve never operated one. All the support is there and the brand and the quality of the product delivered is a strong guarantor of success.

What led you to explore franchising rather than an independent business?

I have independent business objectives, but operating a franchise, especially a HOTWORX franchise, will provide a template to success on my other business objectives and personal goals.

What was your initial impression of your first HOTWORX session?

I couldn’t keep up with the Virtual Instructor and sweated profusely all over the bike. It was a no-joke session executed with smiles from the Virtual Instructor for the entire duration (and who was also sweating) and I definitely achieved muscle failure mixed with a few expletives during the session.

How was your experience going through the HOTWORX Discovery Process?

Cynthia was awesome all the way through. It was informative, encouraging, and positive. I had lots of questions and they were all answered. Such attentiveness and transparency is indicative of a great opportunity. I recognized early on that the HOTWORX culture is very goal centric. So if any feel they are being pressured, it's just the HOTWORX culture leaning out of the foxhole and drawing you along with it. It's a good thing!

How would you describe your Orientation Day and meeting the HOTWORX Executive Team?

I’m a keen observer to human interaction and the culture at HOTWORX is very familial. Everyone really enjoys the company of all their team members. Additionally, it was apparent that the staff finds great value in the franchisees. The HOTWORX Executive Team was completely transparent and positive. They want everyone to succeed…and succeed greatly.

What advice would you give to other entrepreneurs considering the opportunity to franchise with HOTWORX?

From my interaction, anyone considering HOTWORX can have faith in the brand and the Executive Team behind it. I don’t think there is a leap of faith here in opening a HOTWORX franchise, it’s more of just stepping out the door and following the path of success.

What are the top 3 reasons you chose to franchise with HOTWORX?

1. Steve Frederick, my fraternity brother. He posted online that he was opening a HOTWORX in Flowood, Mississippi so I called him and talked to him about it. His positive outlook on HOTWORX was the greatest selling point for me.2. HOTWORX helps others become the best in fitness and promotes positive attitudes along the way to one’s fitness goals.3. The HOTWORX Executive Team really cares about their franchisees. That’s a winning culture!

What excites you the most in offering HOTWORX to your community?

-Offering the greatest, affordable fitness opportunity that serves a large community.-Enables every individual to tailor their fitness goals to their schedule.-High profitability that naturally will come from serving others.

What goals do you plan to accomplish in your first year as a HOTWORX franchisee?

-Establish the flagship studio for all other studios in northern Virginia. This is a strategic initiative that done right will set the community perspective on HOTWORX as the best alternative to other fitness venues in the area.-1000 members by 1st years end. We recognize this is ambitious, but we’re thinking big and will plan and execute accordingly.

How will HOTWORX help you achieve your personal and professional goals?

I’ve got larger goals that need financing to achieve. The profitability from HOTWORX will be the catalyst toward reaching them. These aren’t just financial or business goals, they are service-to-others goals. My overall expectation...HOTWORX is a path to greater achievement outside of HOTWORX.
