Making the Right Decision

HOTWORX congratulates franchisees, Meg and Eric Murray, who were awarded 3 franchise licenses - 2 in the Grand Rapids-Kalamazoo-Battle Creek market and 1 in the Traverse City-Cadillac market. They recently opened their Grand Rapids, MI (Cascade) studio!

What originally motivated you to consider a business opportunity?
2024 was an especially stressful year for both of us in our jobs. During the Fall, we started to question why we were working so hard for other companies and not trying to work hard for ourselves. We both work in the healthcare industry. Eric’s focus is on pharmacy benefit sales strategy while Meg has background on the IT/electronic medical record side of the industry.

What led you to explore franchising rather than an independent business?
I don’t think we have any ideas or products to startup that we are particularly invested in and would feel comfortable taking a giant leap to open.

What was your initial impression of your first HOTWORX session?
I had no idea what to expect going into my first HOTWORX session but came out hooked. I loved feeling good after a workout instead of being in pain.

How was your experience going through the HOTWORX Discovery Process?
The Discovery Process gave us a chance to work with our HOTWORX Franchise Recruiter and ask lots of questions to make sure we were making the right decision.

How would you describe your Orientation Day and meeting the HOTWORX Executive Team?
Orientation Day was exciting, overwhelming, and all the feelings in between. It was great to have a chance to meet face to face with the Executive Team as well. We closed out the day excited about taking the next steps to open our studio.

What advice would you give to other candidates considering the opportunity to franchise with HOTWORX?
Try the workouts to make sure you believe in the brand/concept.

What are the top 3 reasons you chose to franchise with HOTWORX?
1. I wholeheartedly believe in what this fitness concept can help people achieve.
2. The likelihood of profitability
3. The HOTWORX model seems less stressful than opening another type of franchise.

What excites you the most in offering HOTWORX to your community?
We’re excited about introducing this concept to our community and allowing people to experience the health benefits that we did when we belonged to a studio.

What goals do you plan to accomplish in your first year as a HOTWORX franchisee?
In our first year, we plan to open our studio within the year, hit our presale targets within 1 week of launching, and sell some retail!

How will HOTWORX help you achieve your personal and professional goals?
We are looking forward to making our location profitable quickly. If we can achieve this, it will allow us to focus full time on our business and our family. I believe HOTWORX will allow us to be more present for our children because we will eventually have more time for them and because we’ll be back in HOTWORX shape and able to physically do more with them.
