What originally motivated you to consider a business opportunity?
My daughter, Kylee, graduated from college, got married, and moved to Scottsdale where I live. When she arrived, she didn’t have the same passion to pursue Physician Assistant school as she had dreamed of for years. She and her new husband had bigger dreams of being entrepreneurs and I had the experience and financial ability to help them achieve this sooner than later. I was the founder and CEO of Action Financial Services, LLC that I started in March 2010 and grew from a small startup business to one of the top companies in my industry that had 2 locations and 7 subcontractors working on a large federal government contract. Unfortunately, due to Covid and the decisions the government made on the student loan industry, the government canceled our contract 4 years early. The positive out of this sudden change to my business, and ultimately deciding to close my company, was the change of heart that my daughter had to want to pursue options and opportunities in being an entrepreneur. I now had the time and my amazing daughter here in Scottsdale and started thinking and looking for opportunities to do together.
What led you to explore franchising rather than an independent business?
Due to my previous experience starting and growing a business from scratch, the time it took me away from home, and the impact it had on my family, I thought it would be fantastic to find a franchise that was proven, something we were passionate about, and something we could have support that wasn’t as demanding as what I had previously, to do together.
What was your initial impression of your first HOTWORX session?
We went to our first HOTWORX session together and absolutely loved it! We loved the Hot Yoga session in the sauna, the sweat, and it felt like we just had the best workout session in a short period of time. The energy that we felt after that session lasted the rest of the day and was amazing, and it kept us coming back.
How was your experience going through the HOTWORX Discovery Process?
The Discovery Process was a great experience, working with Nancy Price, our Franchise Recruiter. She was passionate, knowledgeable, friendly, straight forward, and a delight to work with through this process.
How would you describe your Orientation Day and meeting the HOTWORX Executive Team?
Orientation Day was organized, prompt, packed full of information, and the Executive Team’s tenure with the company, experience, and passion was the icing on the cake. It made us feel that this is the franchise we want to be a part of and would have fantastic support and the tools and resources to be successful!
What advice would you give to other candidates considering the opportunity to franchise with HOTWORX?
If you aren’t serious about a franchise that has the utmost support, structure, and wants you to succeed under their proven business plan, then HOTWORX isn’t for you. We’re excited to help people achieve their fitness and health goals with the amazing benefits of the infrared sauna, and for the added benefits that you wouldn’t normally get doing regular sessions/workouts without it. We live in an instant gratification society and we believe that even just experiencing one session at HOTWORX shows the benefits and leaves people wanting to come back.
What goals do you plan to accomplish in your first year as a HOTWORX franchisee?
In our first year as franchisees, we plan to build relationships in the community and introduce them to the amazing benefits of HOTWORX’s 3D Training and to achieve 1000 memberships by 12 months from opening.
How will HOTWORX help you achieve your personal and professional goals?
HOTWORX is the vehicle that Kylee and I will have to start our first business together and have the phenomenal opportunity to eventually allow Kylee to be able to have a nice income to raise her family and have a flexible lifestyle that won’t require her to have to work long hours away from home.
