HOTWORX (formerly Hot Box Detox) is a workout system based on “hot exercise,” a term that we coined right here on this blog. We use a patent pending infrared sauna system to service three clients at a time for their isometric workout needs.

Everything is in a name. The name of anything should reflect its true essence. Product naming is a problem solving exercise meant to discover a “title” through meaning with the highest level of creativity and originality. And, of course, the name should have a coolness factor.Therefore, we have made the decision to change the name of Hot Box Detox to HOTWORX.

THE RIGHT HEAT FOR WORKOUTS

Most hot yoga and hot pilates studios use traditional heating methods that simply heat up the air in the room. The original hot workout idea was to recreate the climate in India at around 104 degrees and 40% humidity. While this may be closer to the climate in India, it is not the best environment for working out. Infrared heat is the same as the heat that radiates from the sun and it provides for a much drier studio and, therefore, much more comfortable for workouts.The same is true for saunas. Introducing Hot Buns And Hot Roll!

I am happy to announce that we are now releasing two new HBX videos! These two are not just revisions of our original “Hot Iso” 14 posture full-body isometric workout. These videos open up two new workout categories for Hot Box Detox, one for laser focused glute work and one for self-myofacial release/deep tissue massage. Ideally, for clients, the two new videos will serve as a supplement to the original Hot Iso workout.

Confusion About Muscle Confusion

The Hot Box Detox isometric/infrared fusion workout was inspired by Bikram Yoga. I used to practice Bikram and it is an awesome program if you have 90 minutes for it. Now I practice the 30 minute Hot Box Detox twice per week as a supplement to my weight training program.One of the reasons that I liked Bikram was its discipline to 26 set postures. With the set postures, you are able to easily know how you are progressing from session to session.

Hot Exercise…the HBX-Factor for Your Fitness Business

Let’s give credit where credit is due. Exercise combined with heat has been popularized by the hot yoga movement for sure. Most hot yoga studios, such as Bikram practice at a temperature of 104 or 105 degrees Fahrenheit (convection heat, or in other words heated air in the room) and with a humidity level of 40% so as to re-create the climate of India where yoga originated.
