Chicago, Illinois

Fitness started early for me, I grew up playing every sport I could get into; soccer, tennis, baseball, basketball and golf. Football, baseball and basketball stuck through high school and then football in college. In baseball I was shortstop and lead off. Football I was a receiver, punt/kick returner. I’m currently traveling the country competing in golf qualifiers for the World Long Drive Championship. After my move to Chicago to take a sales job I quickly learned I wasn’t doing something that made me truly happy so I quit my job to get certified as a personal trainer. Since then I have earned certifications for a Nutritionist, Pre Natal/post partum, TRX STC and Golf wellness specialist. After working for a gym chain I quickly realized I wanted a broader scope of potential clients so I left the gym to work for myself, 8 years later here I am!

What motivated you to become a HOTWORX Virtual Instructor?

Everyone’s fitness journey is different, my personal fitness journey will always be an ongoing crazy loophole of failures, triumphs, motivated periods and unmotivated periods but I am always setting new goals no matter my age. As we get older we realize how important our physical health is and how it can affect what we do in our later years. I’ve had clients ask me, why do I do what I do?….it’s simple, I want to help someone change their life not only physically but emotionally. I want to help someone find “that spark” that changes their idea of fitness and wellness. Not everyone is the same, not everyone has the same struggle and not everyone has the same goals, but that’s what drives me. I want to be able to help anyone find their breakthrough, it’s in that moment I know they made a change. When that breakthrough happens it’s the best feeling I have because I know their lives are about to start changing for the better. The body changes, goals are met, confidence rises….this is why I do what I do. I want to be a part of that breakthrough!

How was your very first HOTWORX session? Describe the experience.

My first HOTWORX workout was Hot Row and I was not ready for the heat and intensity but I loved it! I think I was sweating and out of breath after only 5 mins but afterwards I felt so great and I couldn’t wait to get in another workout!

What’s your favorite Isometric posture? Why?

My favorite isometric posture is the “wall sit of death.” I have always liked this position, such a great workout for the legs. It takes me back to the good ol days of football training in college.

Which Isometric posture is the most difficult for you? Why?

My most difficult isometric posture is definitely the warrior plank, that has always been a tough one for me and my clients. This takes a lot of core strength and tons of practice!

What has been the most rewarding part of being a HOTWORX Virtual Instructor?

The most rewarding part of being a Virtual Instructor is to see the growth of such an amazing concept and having the opportunity to reach out to so many members across the country to be a part of their health journey. It’s an honor to be a part of helping so many people reach their fitness goals!
