How did heat get to here in fitness?Heat is an ancient form of therapy. Sweat lodges and saunas have been around for centuries. Thousands of years ago the Greeks and Egyptians used various forms of heat therapy, including the sun, thermal baths, hot mud and caverns with volcanic heated air.Exercise has been around since the ancient times as well.

I don’t mean to brag, but HOLY CRAP man…the calorie after-burn from a HOTWORX workout is tremendous. I’ll just use myself and my Apple Watch as proof. I am 5’ 10”, 185 lbs., fit and 53 years young. As I have travelled coast to coast visiting gyms, clubs and spas that have installed HOTWORX infrared saunas, one thing that I hear from the customers at all of these locations is how the HOTWORX workouts have elevated their quality of life. I have heard this from yoga instructors, professional athletes, doctors, fitness competitors, police officers and mom/daughter teams.

The more you hydrate during a workout in the sauna, the more you sweat. The more you sweat, the more you detox. Make sure you hydrate properly. By that I mean keep your sports drink shaker next to you and drink plenty and whenever you need to.

Why do champions train in extreme conditions? I would submit to you the old adage: What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger! Ok, that sounds extreme for sure, but I am tired of reading and listening to the weak speak of some of the so called fitness gurus out there. It takes a special person to achieve the highest level of motivation for a workout practicing solo with no other people around. Even when training by yourself, you always achieve a higher level of performance if you have a trainer to push you or if you are simply in a workout environment such as a gym or a park where there are others around.

It is easy for anyone to equate sweating with detoxification. What is not so easily understood is detoxification based on muscle compression. When you flex your biceps doing curls, you are compressing your muscles and constricting blood flow. When you relax the flexion you can feel the flush of the constricted blood flow release. When this happens toxins are flushed out of the body!

Product naming is a problem solving exercise meant to discover a “title” through meaning with the highest level of creativity and originality. Most hot yoga and hot pilates studios use traditional heating methods that simply heat up the air in the room. The original hot workout idea was to recreate the climate in India at around 104 degrees and 40% humidity. While this may be closer to the climate in India, it is not the best environment for working out. Infrared heat is the same as the heat that radiates from the sun and it provides for a much drier studio and, therefore, much more comfortable for workouts.The same is true for saunas.
