Fasted Infrared Training

We were honored to have Dr. Rhonda Patrick as a guest speaker for the HOTWORX franchise convention last year. Dr. Patrick is one of the world’s foremost authorities with respect to the topic of hormesis. My first knowledge of hormesis was through her writings.

Hormesis deals with the notion that sets, or bursts of certain types of stressors can trigger cellular activities that promote health and that can have an anti-aging effect. These hermetic stressors can have a sort-of pruning effect that creates resilience to increasing levels of future stress for a human body. Hormesis is the scientific application of an old saying in fitness, “no pain, no gain.” Or, if you prefer, “there is no progress inside the comfort zone!” One sure way to gain a better understanding of yourself is to learn how to manage stressors, and to use them to your advantage rather than trying to avoid them.

A well designed fitness program can use various stressors to promote hormesis. Examples of this would be training in a fasted state, or training in an infrared workout environment like that of the patented HOTWORX workout sauna.

Training in a fasted state is a stressor that can yield tremendous fat burning results. Imagine even more results that happen when you train in a fasted state combined with an environment of heat and infrared energy. Think about igniting the cellular activity that will be firing up like never before to give the greatest workout results of your life!

We call the combination of heat, infrared energy and exercise 3D Training. There is a 4th element that can be added as another hermetic stressor and that is the practice of training in a fasted state. The best time to train fasted is in the morning at the tail end of your intermittent daily fast. This is when your body has burned up all of the carbs and begins to burn fat for fuel. Remember the 8/16 intermittent fasting ratio? It simply means that you should eat for only 8 hours and then fast for 16 each day, The way I like to do it is to stop eating around 7-8pm and begin my next meal the following day at noon. Prior to my first meal there will be a weight training workout and an infrared workout, usually Hot Cycle right after the weights. It works very well when you are trying to burn fat, gain muscle tone and build strength. And, it works especially well for fat burning!

The higher metabolic performance from the combination of hermetic stressors, especially when practiced during a fasted workout just might be a fitness game changer for you.
